One tap a day,
and the family can relax.
Buksi the dachshund asks your loved one every day if they are OK: your mum, a friend who lives alone, or your child at university. One tap is the answer. If they don't check in on time, Buksi lets you know right away.
How it works
No complicated setup, and the person you look after doesn't need a password.
Connect with a code
Send them an invitation, or they send you their code. If you're together, scanning a QR code is even quicker.
One tap a day
Your loved one taps the big green ALL OK button. Buksi jumps for joy, and you see that all is well.
If they don't, Buksi alerts you
If there's no check-in by the set time, you get a notification and an e-mail right away.
Who can you look after?
Anyone who lives or spends time alone and matters to you.
Parents and grandparents
When you live far away and can't call every day.
Friends and siblings living alone
A shared safety net: if someone doesn't check in, the others know.
Older children, students
In a dorm, a flat share, or home alone for the first time.
Yourself
If you live alone and want someone to know you're OK.
Simple for everyone
Big text, few buttons, everything on one screen: for grandma and for teenagers too.
I need help
One tap alerts the family, and 112 is right there too.
Call me
A non-urgent request: call when you have a moment.
Buksi reads aloud and barks
Says what to do in a friendly voice and barks with Ropi's real voice. Can be turned off.
Home screen button
Check in without even opening the app.
Pause mode
For holidays or a hospital stay, so there are no needless alerts.
Notes from the family
Buksi delivers your heart or a few kind words at the next check-in.

Buksi's voice is Ropi, our dog
Buksi is made by a family in Hungary. Every bark in the app is Ropi's own voice: that's how he says good morning, and how he speaks up when something may be wrong.
Frequently asked questions
Does the person I look after need a smartphone?
Yes, an Android phone. They don't need an e-mail address or password: you connect once with a code (you send them an invitation, or they send you theirs), and that's it. iPhone support is coming later.
What if their phone battery dies?
Alerts are decided by our server, not the phone. If no check-in arrives by the set time, you are alerted even if their phone is off or flat. With Premium you also see when their battery is running low.
Does it replace 112 or a personal alarm?
No. Buksi is a daily sign of life for the family. It is not a medical device or an emergency service. In an emergency always call 112; the app has a button for it.
Where is the data stored?
In the European Union (Frankfurt), over encrypted connections. We never ask for health data. Location is saved only with their consent and only at check-in; photos and voice messages are deleted after 30 days. Details are in the privacy policy.
How do I cancel Premium?
Any time in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions. If you cancel during the free trial, you pay nothing. After cancelling, alerts keep working; only Premium features are locked.
